Week 26, Half

Half-life (26/52)

Peter: Half-life (26/52)

Project 52, week 26: Half. I'm half way into my Project 52! We quite accidentally selected this theme for our 'half-way theme'. I had several idea's of which this was the only one I could shoot indoors (and, incidentally was the only idea that required a lot of post-processing..). It's the strangest picture I've ever made! I originally wanted to make my skin translucent (letting the skull shine through the skin), but the piggy bank skull I have has a different shape than my own head. After a bit of experimenting I came up with this bearded half-life creation. While I'm not totally happy with the lighting, it was a nice experiment, and the post-processing was.. challenging. :) Setup: Sigma EF-500 DG Super @1/2, 17mm, subject front left, into DIY beautydish Canon EX580II @1/64, 25mm, subject back right, bare Metz 48 AF-1 @128, 50mm, on-axis above camera Sigma and Canon triggered with Cactus V5, Metz as optical slave.

Week 25, Crooked

Overpass (25/52)

Peter: Overpass (25/52)

Project 52, week 25: Crooked. This week I was in Barcelona, city of the Modernistas, and Antoni Gaudi in particular. He was the most famous architect of the Modernisme movement, and is best known for designing the Sagrada Familia, which is still under construction. He also designed the Parc Guell, where this overpass can be found. The park is something quite different and has very nice views over the city of Barcelona, but can be terribly crowded with tourists, as I've found out. Taking pictures of most of the buildings and statues is quite difficult (or even impossible) with all those people around!

Week 24, Spring

Swashbuckling (24/52)

Peter: Swashbuckling (24/52)

Project 52, week 24: Spring. I may have gone a bit over-the-top with post processing the last weeks, so this week I've gone with a nice, simple picture of a baby goat (also called a buckling). Only basic adjustments in Lightroom, nothing fancy. It saves a LOT of time. :)
